Hindley DEI Update | October 14th, 2024

We were deeply troubled by the racist slur found on Hindley’s playground last week. As children continue to learn from the environments they are exposed to, DEI programming is essential to creating a compassionate and respectful environment for all students to thrive. Research has shown that children demonstrate racial bias well before they enter school (e.g. see here) .

Events such as Hindley Heritage Night have become part of the annual calendar and parents and students alike look forward to sharing and learning about their community. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that our school remains a safe space for all students, families, teachers and administrators, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or background.
