Starting Monday, November 9th you can access the E-fair byclicking Hindley Book Fair or by entering the code Z63L2 here. We realize that finding books at an online fair is quite different than being able to search through titles in person. To give you a starting point in your shopping, we recommend that you take a look at the Follett Book Flyer as well as our Hindley Book Guide. All titles listed in the Hindley Book Guide will appear under the Staff Recommendations section at the E-fair for ease of purchasing. Please note that the book fair will continuously be restocking books so if a certain title is listed as out of stock, we encourage you to check back over the course of the fair as it is likely to be available before the end of the fair. All book orders will ship at the conclusion of the book fair on November 20th and are expected to arrive within 5 business days. Similar to the process successfully executed for the Hindley spirit wear orders, we will send out a communication including the pickup time and location once we have received and organized the books. Classroom Book Donations This year, these are the two ways to donate books to the classroom: Teacher Wish Lists – individual teacher wish lists are available directly at the E-fair. You will go to the drop down menu located at the top left corner at the E-fair site and be able to see all the individual teacher wish lists. If you select to purchase a book, it will be removed from the teachers wish list and upon delivery will include a sticker with your child’s name letting the teacher know you donated the book to them. Teacher Gift Cards – alternatively, you can purchase a Follett gift card and send that directly to individual teachers. These gift cards will NOT be available on the book fair site but must be accessed here. You must include the teachers email address for the gift card to go directly to their inbox. All teacher emails adhere to the following format: first initial directly followed by last name @darienps.org Example: Hindley Shopper is hshopper@darienps.org. Book Donation Drive We have partnered with Darien Book Aid for a book donation drive running concurrently with the book fair. There will be ways to donate: Donation boxes – There will be donation boxes set up at 11 Concord Lane and 27 Laforge Road for the entire period of November 9th – November 20th. As you make new purchases, we encourage you to donate your outgrown and unused books by dropping them off at the donation boxes. For these used book donations, we will be accepting books for children and young adults and high school classics both in English and in Spanish. Darien Book Aid Wish List – alternatively, you can purchase a book off the Darien Book Aid wish list directly on the E-fair site. Darien Book Aid has requested titles geared towards middle school grades as they often find it difficult to sufficiently meet the needs of this age group. We are looking forward to “seeing” everyone at the book fair this year and as always, thank you so much for all the support! Lauren Stevens & Tiffani Dijounas 2020 Hindley Book Fair Co-Chairs |
