The collected candy from this drive will be sent to Operation Gratitude. Their Halloween Candy Give-Back Program has been connecting communities with Military and First Responder Heroes each fall since 2007. While Halloween may look a little different this year, Operation Gratitude and their incredible volunteers are committed to continuing to give back in meaningful ways. Donated candy will be sent to Deployed Troops, Veterans, and First Responders with the goal of forging strong bonds between the civilian and service communities nationwide.
We are also collecting gently used costumes to donate to WeenDream; these costumes will be used for Halloween 2021. WeenDream gives costumes to kids from all over America who are faced with unique challenges, including those with special needs, physical and/or mental disabilities, homeless children, kids living in poverty or at shelters, children with serious medical issues, kids in the foster care system, and kids who have experienced a recent trauma or natural disaster.
On November 1st and 2nd you can donate extra candy and gently used costumes to one of two locations in Darien: 40 Pasture Lane or 17 Pleasant Street.
